... and other curiOus questions (1995) continued Gandini Juggling’s explorations of the deconstruction of juggling patterns, shifting to a more detailed examination of ‘social’ siteswaps, as well as developing the composition of the juggling in finer detail and sustaining the emphasis on the arrest and flow of movement.

The initial outline of the piece emerged out of a short research period at Middlesex University with Gill Clarke, Sean Gandini, Kati Ylä-Hokkala, juggler Alix Wilding, and acrobat Jeremy Robbins. Gandini recalls that Clarke “was furiously making phrases and reversing them, chopping them up... ”. This use of the fragmentation and subsequent relocation of material also saw the company exploring a more adventurous dance ‘vocabulary’, particularly in the form of complex stepping patterns and the use of the performers’ legs.
